James Dyck – Founder & Owner

James Dyck is a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) with over 15 years of engineering and operations leadership experience in oil and gas and more than 3 years managing residential and commercial construction. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri and Texas A&M University, along with an MBA from the University of Louisiana–Lafayette.

James’ career spans engineering, facilities operations, and construction management, but his passion for Safe at Home Solutions comes from personal experience. His parents, now in their 70s, live in a home on his property and serve as campground hosts in Colorado, while his in-laws live nearby in Lufkin. Growing up, James’ father worked in construction and remodeling, and his mother led home health and hospice services as a hospital vice president. His wife Kristen, a home health physical therapist, adds another layer of perspective to the unique challenges families face when aging in place.

This blend of professional expertise and personal insight fuels James’ mission: to create safe, comfortable, and beautiful living environments for seniors, veterans, and families across East Texas. Through Safe at Home Solutions, he helps homeowners adapt their spaces with dignity, security, and long-lasting value.
